Dear Swim Team Parents,

I hope this email finds you and your family well. What crazy times we're living in! The Board is still so sad we had to cancel the season, but we remain committed to the safety of our swimmers in all circumstances. Despite the lack of a real season, board business still remains. One of the main objectives of the board over the summer is to establish the makeup of the board for the following year. The rollover from old members to new ones usually happens in July. This year, we are in an unusual situation -- 5 of our 12 board members will be rolling off, including the President, Vice-President, and Treasurer. These are roles that need to be filled, but we do not currently have people willing to step in to fill them. 

With that said, we are asking each of you to consider whether serving on the 2020-2021 Swim Team Board would be something you'd be willing to do. The board members that are remaining are committed to helping whoever steps in, but we need leaders for these key positions (along with a few other positions). 

In terms of commitment, here is what you can expect:

• Monthly Meadows Marlins Swim Team Board meetings
• Monthly league meetings (for President & Vice-President ONLY)
• A couple hours every few months for fundraising events (i.e., Oktoberfest & Christmas Memories beer sales)
• Full participation at 2021 swim meets (Board members set the bar for volunteer hours)

This is 100% a volunteer service position. There is no compensation nor any discount on swim team registration. However, by serving, you have the chance to speak into the Marlins Swim Team and shape the memories your child(ren) will make during the 2021 season.
