Sean Ulrey Head Coach

Sean has been a part of the Meadows Marlins family since 2014, filling various roles over the years including parent, announcer, starter, Equipment Manager, Treasurer, and Team President. Sean has lived in Meadows Place for 21 years along with his wife Sari and son Caleb, who also swims for the Marlins.

Sean grew up swimming for Creekstone Crocodiles, Katy Aquatics, and Mayde Creek High School in the Katy area. He has held numerous coaching and swim director positions at all levels over the years, including YMCA, 24 Hour Fitness Swim Program, Kerr Mc-Gee Swim Club, Team Yes, and Lone Star Swim Team. These days, he has transitioned to a career as a Real Estate Agent, but he has always made time to stay involved at the pool and with the swim team.

Sean believes that summer league swim team is an activity that should, through challenging positive experiences, provide great memories, a general sense of accomplishment, and an introduction to competitive swimming for 18 & under swimmers.

Sean says, “It is an honor and privilege to be able to work with the swimmers of Meadows Marlins this summer. I am excited to be able to help them achieve goals and create great memories. I hope to be able to build off of the great legacy that our most recent coaches left us with.”

Beaux Hoffman Assistant Coach

Beaux’s love of swimming began at age six while swimming for the Meadows Marlins. Beginning at age eight, first swimming with FCST and then ShAC year-round, Beaux qualified for meets across the state and nation, such as TAGS, Speedo Junior Nationals, and NCSA.

She received numerous awards, including, but not limited to, the Scholastic All-American award, for her success in the pool and in the classroom. She was a four-year varsity swimmer for Dulles High School, breaking the 200 IM and 100 butterfly school records three years in a row, placing first in the district for 200 IM and 100 butterfly, and swam at state all four years.

Beaux then went on to swim for the University of Pittsburgh, double majoring in Communications and Public Policy Writing. Unfortunately, an injury cut her swimming career at Pitt short, but she is still committed to the art of swimming, now more than ever.

“Swimming has offered me amazing opportunities to compete at different levels, develop amazing friendships, travel, and experience life in ways I would not have without the sport. My hope is to share my experience and love for swimming with the Meadows Marlins, and I look forward to a spectacular 2024 season!”
